I went into labor on Labor Day, and Cruise was delivered 26 hours later on September 6, 2011 at 9:53 pm. It was the most grueling work I have ever done, but seeing his tiny little body in my arms blinking up at me washed all the traumatic events from the delivery away.
Today, on his one month birthday, is the first day we are home alone together! We have had such amazing help from my mom and dad and sister who have been here since he was born, I honestly don't think we would have survived without them. There is nothing like having your Mom there to take care of you when you are recovering and learning how to be a Mom yourself, and we are so lucky they have been able to spend so much time helping us adjust, and bonding with Cruise. I am enjoying this first day not having to share him with anyone though! He is currently snuggled next to me snoozing, and I am falling more and more madly in love with my main man!
We have more visitors coming in the next few weeks and we are so excited to introduce him to all of our family and friends. He is one lucky baby to already be so loved by so many people! Here is a picture of Cruise from his newborn session.
